Alan Hiscox, “My Life as a Mounted Police Officer”
7 September 2022
Have you ever wondered what it’s like to train and ride police horses? Join Alan Hiscox, retired mounted police officer and Metropolitan Police’s Chief of Equitation, for an informative evening where you can learn just this. With over 26 years experience working with police horses, Alan will talk about the reality of policing London’s streets via horseback, from the ceremonial aspects to serious public order events. Alan is currently working for the British Horse Society as their Director of Safety and has been hugely instrumental in the recent updates to the Highway Code and the BHS Dead Slow campaign.
I just wanted to say what a brilliant night it was yesterday - nice venue (and refreshments) and absolutely great speaker. He was SO interesting! I really enjoyed it, so thanks very much to you and the rest of the committee for organising it all.

Thanks so much for all your hard work arranging Alan’s talk. My daughter and I thoroughly enjoyed the evening.
